Newsies

I've been a bit behind the times with the Sarah Palin newspaper business. I knew she went on the Katie Couric show and failed the pop-quiz administered by Ms. Couric. I tried and tried to see footage of the pop-quiz administered to St. Obama or Joey Biden, but for the life of me I can't seem to find any. I'm sure given the non-biased nature of the MSM and especially Katie, that footage is there, but just hard to get to.

Anyway back to the newspaper "controversy". She didn't name any specific rags and well that means she can't right? Honestly if anyone asked me what newspapers I read on a daily basis, I couldn't name any either. I don't read newspapers. I can't remember the last time I actually sat down with a newspaper. Probably on a flight somewhere.

Think what you will of her, does anyone seriously think the governor of a state doesn't at least know the names of a newspaper or two? She didn't want to play the pop quiz game with Katie and all of a sudden she doesn't know how to read. OK if that's the way the MSM plays it.

What I think was beyond stupid was the McCain campaign agreeing to these interviews. McCain went on The View and was accused of bringing back slavery by Whoppi Goldberg. The same show that was gushing over Obama when he was on. So does the McCain camp learn a lesson? No. They send Palin on Katie's show to be ambushed.

McCain has run about the worst campaign imaginable. And he deserves to lose. I say this as someone who is scared shitless of Obama's coming fascism. But damn it, it's almost as if McCain is playing to lose on purpose. He could have come out against the bailout bill and taken a stand against pork barrel spending. Instead he acts like a fool running around Washington screaming that if the bill doesn't pass the end of the world will arrive.

Does he not read polls? Does he not notice the overwhelming disgust with this bill coming from the American people? This is politics 101. When in an election, don't take a position that is opposed by the majority of people. He could have clearly distinguished himself from Obama by taking a principled fiscal conservative stand. And he would have completely gone against the "McCain is Bush's 3rd term" story that Obama and the MSM have crafted. And in the next debate he could have said "Sen. Obama, you chose the path of socialism, I chose the path of American free enterprise". And win or lose, that would have been putting COUNTRY FIRST. And if nothing else it would have lit a fire under conservatives for 2010 and 2012. Something to rally around. Instead he pissed off conservatives and didn't gain a single liberal or independent vote. Some maverick he is. When push comes to shove he votes with 75 other Senators and tells the 60-70% of Americans who oppose the bill to shut up and do as they're told.

Oh Ron Paul where are you?? Hell oh Mitt Romney/Rudy/Fred where are you?
