Not surprising.
Obama--elected or not--will (and is?) setting race relations in this country back 40+ years. To wit: this video of Obama's "preacher" (I prefer "racist")and the reaction to and actions towards Ferraro.
This comes at a time when things are already turning ugly (e.g. credit crunch, etc.) and people are already beginning to hunker down into fight-or-flight mode....
I think (even though I'm an agnostic) that your title for the post was dead on; this may be the tipping point for this country. But I have a dual citizenship...too bad the housing bubble is screwing that country (Eire) as bad or worse than here.
^^^ I can't agree more. I am going to bet that you will see people leaving this country if he becomes president. Race relations are only good here because whitey turns the other cheek when his women are raped and his men are slaughtered. Obama is a racist. And having him as commander in chief is not going to be good for anyone, white or black. I know this is an extreme view but one only needs to look at South Africa for what racist black leadership does to a first world power. It's slowly descending into a third world dump.
In a very twisted sort of way, it may winding up helping more than hurting him in the long run.
In order to attack him on this, you must first let go of the rumor that he is some sort of "secret muslim".
Once you do that, it comes down to him having a crazy pastor; and there's no shortage of those hanging around all of the candidates.
