I don't get Obamamania

In my view Barrack Obama is an empty suit. No real substance to speak of. And yet it is looking more and more likely that he will be the nominee for president.

Aside from the knee jerk liberal "RAISE TAXES ON THE RICH" bullshit we've been hearing since McGovern, can anyone here name one new - or even slightly tweaked - policy he has put forward that we haven't heard 100 times from other liberals?

Yeah he's black. I get it. And yes having a black president would be new and exciting (for about 2 minutes anyway). But then what? You can't govern effectively simply being being a first. Jimma Cahtah was the 1st governor of Georgia to be president and look how well that turned out.

What's his proposal for illegal aliens? Amnesty with no questions asked. Look at his voting record on this issue and it is crystal clear. This guy makes McCain look like Tom Tancredo.

What's his proposal for Social Security? That old raise taxes on the rich (which by the way means anyone making $50K or more) and cut benefits for the $51K Vanderbilts. Hillary is to the right of him. And it is damn near impossible to say "Hillary is to the right"unless speaking about who's standing where on a stage.

Iraq? Pull out. Great. But when? How fast? Do we leave anyone there? Do we have a plan once we leave to avoid a full blown out civil war that allows Iran to take over the whole country? No answers from him on any of those pesky details. Just a nice bumper sticker slogan of "I was against the war from the start". It's as if Obama is in a car that ran out of gas on the side of the road. While his passengers are trying to figure out where the nearest gas station is, he keeps on saying "I told you we should have filled up before we left". Thanks for the input.

And then as soon as we're done pulling the last GI out, he'll head over to Iran and have a sit down with the mullahs. After all in one of the debates he said he would meet with any leader any time unconditionally.

Oh and of course the most important of all....he has hope and charisma and is a really nice guy. He has a really nice wife and kids. And he wrote a really uplifting book praised by none other than Oprah herself. Come on people you are electing the president not the freaking prom king.

If people thought Clinton (Billy that is) had an easy time with the media (Clinton News Network comes to mind) you ain't seen nothing yet. No self-respecting MSM journalist will ever touch him. No tough questions will be asked. The reason is obvious. Don't want to be accused to racism. I'm not blaming Obama for this, I'm blaming the PC environment we live in. A newspaper points out that Obama has zero experience dealing with foreign policy and within 3 hours Jesse and Al will be picketing outside the paper's lobby.

Interesting times we live in.

UPDATE:

No media bias here.

Journo Love for Obama
NBC's Brian Williams took to MSNBC today at noon
and had this to say:
WILLIAMS: I interviewed Lee Cowan, our reporter who covers Obama, while we were out yesterday and posted the interview on the web. Lee says it's hard to stay objective covering this guy. Courageous for Lee to say, to be honest. The e-mail flood started out we caught you guys, we never did trust you. That kind of thing. I think it is a very interesting dynamic. I saw middle-aged women just throw their arms around Barack Obama, kiss him hard on the cheek and say, you know, I'm with you, good luck. And i think he feels it, too.
